The Buddy Program is designed to make English feel human, warm and natural. Students aged 18+ receive structured lesson and focus on presence, voice, body language and gentle interaction — almost like guided educational role-play — so the child feels comfortable, seen and safe.

18+ trained student Buddies
Buddies are older students who support younger learners during guided English interaction. Their role is not to improvise, but to follow a clear educational framework.
lesson scenarios
Each session is built around a prepared or scenario, so the child experiences structure, predictability and emotional safety while still speaking naturally.
Body language and presence
Buddies focus on tone of voice, facial expression, movement, listening and warmth — similar to light acting or guided role-play — to help the child relax and engage.
Safe learning through play and dialogue
The child learns English through interaction, not pressure. The scenario is created, the emotions are contained, and the learning feels like a real conversation.

One supervised role. Two routes into it.
A Buddy is a trained 18+ speaking-practice facilitator working within a defined educational pathway and under Teacher supervision. A Buddy does not replace a qualified Teacher and does not independently control student assessment or progression.
For Shining Speech™ graduates
Available only to applicants aged 18+ who completed the entire 17–18 Future Skills Year.
For new applicants
For adults 18+ who did not complete the full Shining Speech™ Future Skills Year.
Live-Watched Lessons · Safety First
Student sessions may be observed live by authorized Learn & Work personnel for student safety, quality assurance, training, support and compliance purposes. Live observation does not mean that a lesson is routinely.
